Meet Fluffy, our adorable, angelic and furry hamster. She is the latest addition to the family, and the girls and I all love her. And so does our dog. This is a problem.
You see, our dog loves Fluffy in a way that dogs love hamsters… for lunch. Or perhaps a snack. Every time she sees Fluffy she licks her chops, quite literally. If we leave Fluffy’s little hamster ball on the ground (after removing her safely to her cage) Foxy “plays” with the ball by chewing on it. I can only imagine what primordial drive leads her to do this.
We will keep Fluffy far away from our dog because to her Fluffy is just – well – meat. <shudder>
Incidentally, our dog might not be the worst of her problems. A little while ago my youngest looked at me straight in the eye and asked me completely seriously what would happen if she put Fluffy in her suitcase and took her on vacation with her.
I wonder what the TSA policy is on carry-on hamsters?
